Find local businesses that don't have a website
Pick a city and a kind of business. The count comes from Pindrop's own map of local businesses, checked on September 26, 2026. Across the 50 cities below, 527,065 of 3,390,107 businesses (16%) have no website on record.
How to find them yourself
The slow way is a Google Maps search for a trade and a town, then opening each listing to see whether it has a website button. It works, and it costs an afternoon per neighborhood. Pindrop does the same check across the whole map ahead of time, so every business with no website shows up as a gold pin, and you can build it a website from the pin.
- Start with the trades that buy. Nail salons, cleaners and home trades publish and get pitched most often on Pindrop; restaurants have the most businesses without a site but close least. See the best businesses to sell websites to.
- Check the listing, not just the website field. A Facebook page or an Instagram link is not a website, and many owners know it.
- Go in with the site already built. Owners say yes to something they can see. That is the whole idea of building first and pitching second.

How we count
- Businesses on Pindrop's map within about 12 miles of each city's center, U.S. listings only, counted September 26, 2026.
- "No website" means none on record in the map data. Some of those have one we have not found yet, and a social media page does not count as a website.
- Churches, schools, parks, government offices and other places that are not businesses are left out. Chains are included.
- The full breakdown for all cities and trades is in the report on businesses without websites.
