Where local business websites are being built: 87 countries, 47 states, and a lot of Pittsburgh
The locations of 2,855 websites built on Pindrop for local businesses, by country, U.S. state and city, as of September 15, 2026.
Every site built on Pindrop is built for a real business at a real address, so we can say exactly where the websites are going. Of the 3,194 sites built by September 15, 2026, 2,855 have a pinned location. The rest were custom builds for a business typed in by name with no address. This is where those 2,855 are.

By country
Sites with a pinned location, by the country the business is in.
The United States has 1,795 sites from 662 builders. Canada and the United Kingdom tie at 126 each, then Australia at 83. Europe as a whole has 568 sites, spread across the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, France, Italy, Denmark, Poland, Bulgaria, Belgium and two dozen more. After those come South Africa, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, Brazil and Pakistan.
Some of the smaller countries publish at a higher rate than the big ones. South Africa has 15 of its 36 sites live, the Netherlands 19 of 48, Spain 12 of 33 and Mexico 9 of 22, all around 40%, against 23% in the United States and 25% in the United Kingdom. Small numbers, but the pattern has held for a few weeks: where the competition for a local business's attention is thinner, the site goes live sooner.
By U.S. state
Sites with a pinned location in the United States, by state. 47 states have at least one.
Florida leads with 251 sites from 68 builders, and Pennsylvania is right behind at 244, though from only 40 builders. Pennsylvania is where Pindrop is from, and Pittsburgh alone accounts for 163 sites, more than any other city in the world. California has the most builders of any state, 73, and Texas is close at 68.
The cities after Pittsburgh are Tampa with 79, San Francisco 36, Miami 34, Shawnee and Myrtle Beach 32 each, Kansas City and Springfield 28 each, and New York 24. Outside the United States the busiest cities are Sydney and Brisbane at 20 each, London 18, Auckland 12, Calgary 11 and Melbourne 11.
What it says about the business
The map works anywhere, and people use it anywhere: nearly half the builders with a located site are outside the United States, and countries like South Africa and the Netherlands publish at a higher rate than the United States does. At the same time, the deepest use is in a handful of ordinary mid-sized cities, Pittsburgh, Tampa, Kansas City, Myrtle Beach, where one or two builders have gone street by street. That is the pattern we expect to keep seeing: a few thousand towns with one builder each.
How we counted
- Every site built on Pindrop by September 15, 2026 whose business has a pinned location: 2,855 of 3,194.
- Country, state and city come from reverse geocoding each site's coordinates. Builders are counted once per country or state.
- Live means the site is published at its own address on the day of the count.
